Moving Towards Connection

Series: Anonymous

Part of the reason Jesus took on flesh was to reveal to us what it looks like to be a full, healthy deeply connected human being

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. ‭‭John‬ ‭1:4-5, 14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John1 :4

He is in the pain and struggle with you

“through Him all things were made and without Him nothing was made that was made”

John 1:3,

“In Him we live and move and have our being.”

Acts 17:28

He came to reveal, to turn the lights on in our darkness so we could see what it looks like to be fully human, to be a perfectly healthy human being and to be deeply bound in life- connected first to Him, and then to each other.

The mission of inner renewal and healing is accomplished through deepening relationships with broken people surrendered to Jesus.

That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Aware of our barriers that keep us from vulnerability

1. Unforgiveness - Forgiveness means Accepting what a wrong has cost us. Jesus did this for us. He accepted the cost, the consequence of our sin and endured it for us. We are no longer bound to a death sentence, and He wants to restore our relationship with Him to what He meant it to be.

2. Lack of Trust -
Sometimes people have not earned our trust...Even as people of faith...it is difficult to trust if you question whether you are loved...or if you doubt the goodness of the one who loves you.

And this often is where we find ourselves with God Himself.

“We are not doubting that God will do ‘the best’ for us; we are wondering how painful ‘the best’ will turn out to be” C.S. Lewis
