True Self

Series: Influence

Sermon Notes:

How do you live resiliently in holy restlessness?

  • Stirred Heart
  • Resurrection Prayer
  • Audacious Action

...who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The resurrection of Jesus Christ flowing through our hearts and minds inspires us to imagine a renewed reality and be fueled by his supernatural love.

David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.”
‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭17:32‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This resilient, strong identity, confidence and faith took time to grow in Him through trials and pain.

Don’t trivialize the NOW, because right NOW is a holy moment.

In the NOW of the anonymous (desert, wilderness), God is deeply establishing inside of us who we are in Him and preparing us to resiliently face the giants in our future.

Calling is inextricably interwoven with your personal history.

Vocation does not come from willfulness. It comes from listening. I must listen to my life and try to understand what it is truly about -- quite apart from what I would like it to be about -- or my life will never represent anything real in the world, no matter how earnest my intentions.  –Parker Palmer, Let Your Life Speak
