Unconfessed Sin

Series: Influence

Discussion Questions:

Read 2 Samuel 11:1-17, 27, ‭‭James‬ ‭1:14-15‬
How does your group define sin? What did David risk by confessing his sin? What was the result of his unconfessed sin?

‭‭Read Psalm‬ ‭139:23-24, ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭32:1-5
Why is it important to reflect on the motivation behind our sin rather than just apologizing for the action?

How does confessing sin lead to freedom? When has unconfessed sin (your own or someone close to you) affected your life?

Read ‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭12:13‬
What does this tell us about the Lord's response to David? How does the Lord respond to our sin?

‭‭Read James‬ ‭5:16‬
Think about any unconfessed sin in your life. In groups of 2-3, take a few minutes to talk about what "roof tops" you may need to stay away from. Is there any unconfessed sin you need to share with your group? Use the next few minutes to pray for forgiveness and accept the freedom that comes with repentance!
